Bhutan Festival Tour

The Tshechu is a religious Buddhist festival that venerates the great Buddhist saint ‘Guru Rinpoche’. It is held on tenth day of a month corresponding to birth of Guru Rinpoche. Tshechu is celebrated in every district in Bhutan where the festival date varies. In this biggest festival, the entire communities come together to witness the colourful mask dances and receive the blessing. Every mask dance performed during a Tshechu has a special meaning or a story behind.

In Buddhism, we believe everyone must attend Tshechu at least once in lifetime in order to wash away their sins.
